About Our Primary Montessori Program

Dr. Maria Montessori called the ideal learning environment for children ages 3 to 5 the "Children's House". This was a mixed-age classroom designed to allow children to grow at their own pace through meaningful, hands-on experiences. Our Montessori Primary Program is our own version of this special environment, built to honor each child's natural curiosity, independence, and desire to learn.

In our mixed-age classrooms, younger children learn by watching and interacting with older friends, while older children blossom as gentle leaders and role models. This community-centered structure nurtures empathy, problem-solving skills, confidence, and a deep sense of belonging.

From Ages 3 to 5: Child Development Support For Every Stage

The years between ages 3 and 5 are a remarkable stage in your child's development. It is a time when their curiosity expands, their independence blossoms, and their early thinking skills take shape. Our Montessori primary classrooms are designed to gently support this growth, giving children the freedom to explore, make choices, and build confidence through meaningful, hands-on learning every day.

Building Independence Through Purposeful Work (Practical Life)

In our Primary Montessori Program, Practical Life activities match the natural "I can do it myself" stage of 3- to 5-year-olds. Children pour, button, prepare food, and care for plants, building confidence, coordination, and a strong sense of independence.

Strengthening Thinking Skills & Sensory Awareness (Sensorial Development)

Our primary classrooms include Sensorial materials that support children as they refine their senses and learn to sort, compare, and classify the world around them. These hands-on experiences strengthen concentration and prepare young learners for future reading, math, and scientific thinking.

Nurturing the Mathematical Mind (Early Math Foundations)

The Primary Montessori Program introduces early math through concrete, hands-on materials that make numbers and quantity come to life. Children build a natural understanding of addition, subtraction, and place value long before traditional worksheets are ever needed.

Growing as Communicators & Early Readers (Language Development)

Language work in our primary classrooms supports rapid vocabulary growth and early literacy milestones for children ages 3 to 5. Through phonetic games, storytelling, tracing, and early writing, children become confident communicators and beginning readers.

Exploring Culture, Nature & Creativity (Cultural Studies, Art, Spanish, Yoga & Gardening)

Our Primary Montessori Program offers rich cultural lessons, hands-on science, art, gardening, Spanish, and yoga to match children's growing curiosity about the world. These experiences nurture creativity, emotional development, and a deep appreciation for nature and community.

Developing Confidence Through Movement (Purposeful Movement)

Movement is an essential part of learning in our primary classrooms, supporting the major motor milestones of ages 3 to 5. Children gain balance, coordination, and self-regulation as they move freely, choose their work, and care for their environment.
