About Our Montessori Toddler Program
Every parent hopes for a gentle, loving first school experience for their toddler. Our Montessori toddler program was created with this in mind. Our Montessori toddler program provides a warm, nurturing environment where your child can feel safe, understood, and excited to discover the world around them. The toddler years are marked by extraordinary developmental growth. Between 18 months and 3 years, children experience rapid growth in language, movement, emotional awareness, and independence. Research by the American Montessori Society confirms what Dr. Maria Montessori discovered more than a century ago, that toddlers love to learn, crave meaningful activity, and are capable of remarkable focus when given the right environment. That's exactly what our program provides.
From 18 Months to 3 Years: Development Support For Every Stage
Dr. Maria Montessori famously said, "All that we ourselves are has been made by the child, by the child we were in the first two years of our lives." She believed that the earliest years shape the very foundation of a child's character, personality, and lifelong learning. Her concept of the absorbent mind explains why toddlers take in everything around them, effortlessly absorbing language, movement, order, emotion, and culture simply by living in a prepared, supportive environment. This is why our Montessori toddler program is intentionally designed to nurture this precious stage of development.
Practical Life Skills for Building Independence & Self-Esteem
Toddlers love doing real-life activities, and our Practical Life lessons, such as pouring, dressing, washing, and caring for plants, support their growing need for independence. These tasks strengthen fine motor skills, coordination, concentration, and the confidence that comes from "I can do it myself."
Sensorial Development for Strengthening Curiosity and Understanding
Toddlers learn with their whole bodies, and Sensorial materials help them sort, match, and compare colors, textures, shapes, sounds, and sizes. These experiences refine their senses and build early problem-solving skills that prepare them for future work in math, language, and science.
Math Foundations for Early Number Sense Through Exploration
At this age, math begins naturally through hands-on activities that invite counting, sorting, comparing, and identifying quantity. These playful experiences help toddlers develop early number awareness and pattern recognition, key milestones in pre-math learning.
Language for Growing Vocabulary and Communication Skills
Toddlers often experience explosive language development, and our classrooms are rich in songs, stories, conversations, and vocabulary games. Through naming objects, describing actions, and engaging in meaningful dialogue, toddlers build the communication skills essential for preschool and beyond.
Cultural Studies, Art, Spanish, Yoga & Gardening for Introducing the Wonder of the World
Toddlers explore simple concepts in science, nature, geography, and culture through hands-on experiences like caring for plants, digging in soil, creating art, moving their bodies, and learning Spanish through songs and repetition. These activities nurture curiosity, creativity, and a sense of belonging to a larger world.
Purposeful Movement for Encouraging Coordination and Body Awareness
Toddlers are in a sensitive period for movement and need freedom to climb, carry, stretch, walk, and balance. Our classroom layout encourages safe, purposeful movement that builds gross motor skills, body awareness, and self-regulation.

We are so grateful for the incredible staff who have ALL been instrumental in our son's first school experience. The school itself is beautiful, clean, and spacious. The structured activities paired with his teacher's patience makes for the perfect environment for our boy. We noticed a positive behavioral difference in our speech delayed toddler after his first week. Before enrolling, we shopped around for months and are so thankful we came across this gem. His teachers Miss Keyona and Miss Brooke took the time in advance to ask us about his special interests and learning style and have made an amazing effort to remember and apply what we shared about him, while working with him to reach his social and developmental goals. Seeing my son get excited to go to school every morning affirms my confidence that we made the best choice!

I like the small size and that everyone knows my child’s name. It’s also well kept and clean. My child comes home happy, clean, and wants to go back the next day. He also learns a lot at school! We hear new words and phrases weekly 🙂

From the start, our experience with TBMC has been incredible and to be specific it has been because of the following: -The staff - every single staff member knows us and our child. They are in tune with each person, their family members, their routines, and they truly care about our well being as a whole. It did not take long at all to become accustomed in the parent-teacher relationship as they really make you feel at home from day one. -The structure of the classrooms - The placement of classrooms and different age groups being exposed to each other at strategic times is really great. It allows for the children to build on relationships with children within and outside their groups and it's made a difference in how our daughter socializes outside of school. -The classroom size - it's not overwhelming and truly gives our child space to learn, socialize, and be independent. -The Montessori style of teaching - seeing how my daughter has blossomed in such a short amount of time is in part the style of teaching, but also the commitment from the teachers. I see first hand how much she adores them and her trust in them is profound. They genuinely care and it shows.
